Twitter Delivers Photo Filters as Rumored

As MMW reported Monday, Twitter was rumored over the weekend to be on the verge of introducing a series of photo filters, closely emulating the winning efforts of Instagram, Facebook, and Snapseed.

All Things D was the first to report the good news that the holidays may deliver a “sepia-toned little bird” under the tree this Christmas. By Tuesday, however, Christmas had come early for those eager for the filters to arrive.

Starting today, you’ll be able to edit and refine your photos, right from Twitter. The latest versions of Twitter for iPhone and Twitter for Android introduce a few new ways to enhance the images you tweet. We’re grateful to our partner, Aviary, for powering our filters and effects.

Twitter has released this update in Google Play and the App Store.

Going along nicely with the announcement on the Twitter blog is a new video meant to help users learn more about Twitter’s new photo filters.
