Show Me the Money: Chief Digital Strategy Doyens Drag Home the Most Dough

Show Me the Money Chief Digital Strategy Doyens Drag Home the Most DoughIf you’re looking for some job security — and the money that comes with it — bone up on your digital marketing prowess.

According to AdAge: “Chief digital officers take home the most digital marketing dough with a salary increase of 7.5 percent and a range between $156,000 and $301,000.”

That salary data comes from a recent report from well-known recruiter Mondo.

More money is flowing in that direction, according to Mondo, whose 2014 survey showed that chief digital officers’ salaries ranged between $148,000 and $280,000.

“Companies are under pressure to come up with a digital strategy, so they’re trying to build highly-educated teams beginning at the top,” said Laura McGarrity, VP of digital marketing strategy at Mondo

Longtime marketing pros are working hard to add digital cred to their resumes and rebrand as experts in the hot categories: digital marketing, mobile tech and marketing, mobile measurement, social media, and more.

“This year, positions on the rise include VPs of digital marketing, whose salaries jumped 10 percent to a range of $135,000 to $201,000; directors of creative services, with an 8 percent increase to a range of $81,000 to $185,000; and social media managers, with a 7 percent salary increase to a range of $58,000 to $85,000,” notes AdAge.
