This week, MMW was privy to the preliminary and soon-to-be published findings of a new report which indicates that the nation’s top mobile payments providers aren’t necessarily the best content providers.
Why do mobile payments providers need to be content providers? Because in the fast-emerging mobile payments arena, consumers and merchants alike enjoy working with service providers that maintain a knowledgeable and useful blog.
The findings of the report cite Square, one of the nation’s most recognizable mobile payment solutions providers, as a company that could benefit from a better blog. According to survey respondents, Square is too overtly promotional and not consistent with enough useful and actionable information for readers.
Intuit, on the other hand, runs a tight ship, consumers say, citing a helpful blog for small business owners that presents topical and insightful pieces touching upon matters pertinent to small business ownership.
PayAnywhere, one of the fastest growing providers of mobile payments to U.S. businesses, is hailed as another example of a terrifically resourceful blog. The official PayAnywhere blog not only serves up a heaping bounty of company and product info, but also book recommendations, business leadership advice, and even time management tips.
