Paypal Mobile Payments Up 300% Due To Holiday Mobile Shopping Craze

We’ve covered many announcements from eBay and Paypal on the record-breaking amounts of mobile sales and payments they’ve experienced this holiday shopping season.  Today, Paypal has announced yet another milestone.

The company says its seen a 300 percent increase in mobile payments from the official start of the shopping season (November 15) until now (December 15) compared to the same period last year.  Also notable, the company is announcing today that it has seen a 67 percentage increase in Online charitable donations from the official start of the shopping season compared to last year.

Just a few weeks ago, Paypal said it had seen a 27 percent increase in total payment volume on Black Friday alone, compared to the previous year, and in total, Paypal saw an approximately 310 percent increase in mobile shopping just on Black Friday.  As we’ve said before, this year’s holiday shopping craze has been a major boon to mobile payments and commerce in general, with Paypal being at the forefront.
