Millennial Media Launching Operations in Asia-Pacific Region

According to the latest research and insight from Gartner, the Asia-Pacific region is already a $1.6 billion market for mobile advertising.

Consequently, the opportunity has never been greater to target this burgeoning market with new products and services in the mobile realm.

Astute to the undeniable growth potential in that part of the world, Millennial Media – a widely recognized industry leader in mobile advertising – today announced its expansion into the Asia-Pacific region.

The company announced Robert Woolfrey as the company’s new operations chief in Southeast Asia. Millennial Media says it will develop a presence in the region and continue aggressively hiring.

“Millennial Media is the leading independent mobile advertising platform in the United States and Europe; and will now bring that same premium strategy to Southeast Asia,” says Woolfrey. “Gartner forecasts that the mobile advertising industry in Asia Pacific will grow from $1.6 billion USD to $6.9 billion in 2015 and Millennial will be in the prime position to capitalize on that growth with our premium offering for brands and agencies.”

The company says Woolfrey will be “singularly focused on extending the company’s in-market brand and agency sales” as the firm invests in both people and increasing mobile advertising and monetization education and results in the region.

Woolfrey will also represent Millennial Media on the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA)’s Asia Pacific Board of Directors.

“Millennial Media brings a reputation for quickly generating scale, and delivering strong results for clients when entering new markets,” added Paul Palmieri, President and CEO, Millennial Media. “We are excited to apply that expertise as we deploy premium solutions at the high end of the mobile ad market in Southeast Asia.”
