mHealth What You Need to KnowHere are some of the top stories in healthcare, telemedicine, and mobile health that our sister site mHealthWatch has been monitoring this past week.

mHealth is poised to come into its own this year, analysts assert, as more and more people are becoming open to the idea of using mobile devices and the Internet at large to manage multiple aspects of their own healthcare.

According to a study published by the Center for Technology Innovation at the Brookings Institution, the biggest challenges facing the widespread adoption and acceptance of mHealth technologies is the lack of clarity in regulations and other – equally significant – clarification issues with healthcare payer reimbursements.

While there are now many leading healthcare related websites that are designed to support healthy living, most are not doing an adequate job of reaching Millennials.

According to details published in a new survey summary shared with mHealthWatch, healthcare companies have a long way to go when it comes to catching up in mobile.

Today, the two demographics being most heavily targeted when it comes to mHealth technologies and solutions are teenagers and the elderly. The first demographic is most likely to accept and use mobile devices and the second is most likely to immediately benefit from mobile healthcare solutions.
