Bright and early Friday morning, the folks at Millennial Media released a special edition of their highly-anticipated Mobile Mix reports, the latest of which focuses specifically on mobile games.
The new report probes both the gaming impressions observed by the ad network as well as what verticals are advertising in gaming apps.
Among the more interesting finds in the new report are:
- Through Q3, “Games” was the top app category on Millennial Media’s platform for all of 2012.
- “Arcade Games” accounted for 30 percent of the gaming apps on the platform in Q3. “Word Games” and “Puzzle Games” were the second and third largest subcategories.
- 74 percent of gaming impressions on MM’s platform came from smartphones. 23 percent came from “non-phone” connected devices, such as tablets.
