Capping off a Twitter firestorm that erupted this morning following Apple’s release of iOS 6.1.2, official word from the jailbreak community has now confirmed that the iOS update is, indeed, jailbreakable for the Apple iPhone 5 and iPad mini.
Prominent iOS modder Planetbeing confirmed via Twitter (to rampant jubilation across the tech blogosphere) that Tuesday’s release of iOS 6.1.2, which repairs an Exchange calendar bug that quickly depletes the iOS device’s battery life, is jailbreakable on the two aforementioned devices.
For the time being, adequate testing hasn’t been performed on older iDevice models to confirm jailbreakability with iOS 6.1.2.
iOS 6.1.2, which is available now as an OTA update, is the second iOS update in a week. Days ago, Apple released iOS 6.1.1 to provide a fix for the Exchange syncing bug.
