One again underscoring the enthusiasm that’s driving the casino gaming industry to new heights today, the Las Vegas Review-Journal is reporting that attendance at the 2012 Global Gaming Expo spiked by a considerable degree last year.
Based on the information presented this week, attendance climbed by almost 7 percent over 2011. The attendance data was made available following the latest audit of the popular trade show.
The G2E, which was held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in October, drew 15,708 attendees. In the past two years, the G2E has attracted more than 24,820 visitors.
At the end of the day, however, increased attendance is only meaningful if the majority of attendees enjoy the event. In this regard, organizers of the G2E have nothing to worry about. A survey conducted after the convention showed an overwhelming majority of attendants were satisfied and are eager to return to the G2E in the future.
Frank Fahrenkopf, Jr. – the American Gaming Association’s President – sees the elevated G2E attendance as “an encouraging sign” of the gaming industry’s general health and prospects for the future.
