Dr. Oz Finds Prescription for App Marketing SuccessSharecare, an online health and wellness engagement platform, has found a stunning degree of success in the world of mHealth in the short time that the company has been established.

Founded by Dr. Mehmet Oz and WebMD founder Jeff Arnold, the company’s app – AskMD – won Best Medical App at the 4th Annual Appy Awards late last week.

According to a report this week from our sister site mHealthWatch, AskMD is a free, iOS-exclusive app that helps consumers “collect information about their symptoms, learn more about what might be causing their symptoms and connect them to the doctors and specialists qualified to treat them.”

Produced by MediaPost Communications and held in conjunction with Internet Week New York, the annual Appy Awards are fast becoming one of the most distinguished awards programs in the entire app industry.

Winners are selected by a jury of leading tech executives who filter through hundreds of thousands of eligible apps before announcing the winners in 40 different categories at the award ceremony.
