Apple’s Most Powerful New iPad Coming Next Week

Apple had a surprise in store for Tuesday as the company unveiled a new 128 GB model of the fourth-generation iPad with Retina display.

Launching next week, the new iPad 4 will effectively double the previous maximum capacity offered by the market-leading touchscreen tablet.

The 128 GB model will go on sale next Tuesday, February 5th. Available in black or white, the suggested retail price of the Wi-Fi model is $799, while the cellular-capable model will set you back $929.

“With more than 120 million iPads sold, it’s clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and everyday they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs,” says Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs.”

The ultra-capacity new iPad will likely be highly attractive to gamers and multimedia-lovers as well as artists and even medical professionals who require more power and storage capacity from their mobile devices.
