Following the recent release of iOS 6.1, iPhone 4S users began reporting a number of glitches related to their device’s performance.
In response to the underlying and persistent issues, Apple has just released iOS 6.1.1. The software update purportedly resolves the many bugs afflicting iPhone 4S owners who upgraded to iOS 6.1.
iOS 6.1.1, it should be noted, is optimized for iPhone 4S models only as it chiefly “fixes an issue that could impact cellular performance and reliability for iPhone 4S.”
It’s available now either for direct download or as an over-the-air download.
Although iPhone 4S users were seemingly hardest hit by the iOS 6.1 update, a number iPhone 5 owners maintain that battery life has been seriously impaired by iOS 6.1. Apple is yet to formally address the issue although an update for iPhone 5 users may similarly be on the way.
