The 4th generation iPad is off to a stellar star.
Less than one week after preorders commenced, Apple’s 4th generation iPad has completely sold through the total launch day inventory.
New orders of the 4th generation full-size 9.7-inch iPad are now advertised to ship in one week, not one to two days. Until now, those who ordered the 4th generation iPad right out the gate were assured delivery by this Friday, the first official day of availability for the new iPad, as well as the iPad mini.
The initial sales success comes as somewhat of a big surprise given that Apple was not widely expected to be preparing a new iPad so soon after the 3rd generation model launched just this past March.
The iPad mini, however, seems to be a bigger preorder success than the iPad 4. The pint-sized iPad sold through its launch day inventory during the first two days of availability.
