Apple Officially Drops MobileMe, Confirms End of

There’s a whole lot of goodbyes being said at Apple this week.

Yesterday, after being warned last year about the eventuality, Apple fans woke up to a world in which MobileMe – the premium cloud sync and storage platform – was simply no more.

After Apple unveiled iCloud in 2011, the writing was on the wall for poor MobileMe. And yesterday, the platform was finally turned off for good.

Then, on Monday, Apple sent out an email reminding users of yet another pending closure: The messages reads as follows:

Dear user,

Remember, as of July 31, 2012, you will no longer be able to access your documents on the site or view them on the web.

We recommend that you sign in to before July 31, 2012, and download all your documents to your computer. For detailed instructions on how to save a copy of your documents on your computer, read this support article at

Moving forward, you can use iCloud to store your documents and make them available across your computer and your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Learn more about iCloud.
