Apple Launches Twitter Profile for App Store

michael12 years ago02 mins

In yet another clear effort by Apple to secure its branding of all things “App Store,” the Cupertino, California-based tech giant – which is still seeking to legally trademark “App Store” – is turning to the world of social media to advance its already ubiquitous presence in the digital realm.

Apple has officially launched a new twitter account for its App Store. Apple plans to use the account to help promote the latest and most exciting applications. There will also be exclusive deals and offers for App Store apps made available through Apple’s new social media presence.

For a new Twitter profile, the App Store isn’t performing too poorly. Already enjoying the company of nearly 50,000 followers, Apple’s new Twitter page nicely complements the App Store’s other social media accounts.

The App Store, perhaps most notably, has an official Facebook fan page that has been heavily used for the same purposes for which the Twitter page was launched.

Of course, Apple already understands a thing or two about Twitter. Apple operates five additional Twitter accounts: iTunes Trailers, iTunes Podcasts, iTunes TV, iTunes Movies, and iTunes Music. Apple also manages nine regional iTunes pages on Facebook.
