Angry Birds May Finally Be Happy Birds Amidst Download Success

On March 22nd, Angry Birds Space launched on Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android. By Monday, March 26th, the app had been downloaded more than ten million times.

Rovio confirmed the dazzling download milestone via Twitter but did not similarly reveal just how much revenue the download blitz generated.

Angry Birds Space is the fourth version of the hugely popular game and the first new version since Angry Birds Rio launched in March 2011.

Rovio is already promising more levels and additions to Angry Birds Space, which ranges in price from $0.99 for iOS and a new ad-free version for Android, up to a considerably more pricey $6 for Windows PCs.

“We are working towards getting Angry Birds Space to WP7,” Rovio Chief Executive Mikael Hed told Reuters, dismissing earlier media reports that the top gaming firm was dumping the platform.

In case you’re craving more, Rovio plans on releasing four more Angry Birds games in 2012.
